Barbara J. Grant, CPA, MST

Barbara holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Taxation from Southeastern University. Prior to joining Gates, Moore & Company in 1999 as a principal, she was the partner in charge of the healthcare consulting group at a regional CPA firm in Washington, D.C. She brings with her over 25 years of experience representing physicians in such areas as mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, compensation arrangements, buy-sell agreements, tax planning, hospital contracts, billing systems, and procedures.

She has also valued practices for sales, mergers, buy-outs and divorces, recruited and trained medical group business managers, and provided litigation support in various medical settings. Barbara is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Georgia Society of CPAs, Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Georgia MGMA, District of Columbia MGMA, Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA), and Atlanta IBA. She has written articles and is a frequent lecturer for the MGMA and others on topics affecting physicians.
