L. Michael Fleischman, FAAHC

A principal with Gates, Moore & Company for over 20 years, Mike specializes in strategic planning, group governance, medical staff development plans, physician- hospital relations, managed care negotiations, university and hospital based teaching practices and HIPAA.

Mike is a Certified Healthcare Consultant and a Fellow of the American Association of Healthcare Consultants, he is a past Chair-person of AAHC's Board of Directors and currently serves as the Director of its Membership Development Committee.  He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives serving on ACHE’s Healthcare Consultants Committee.

He has lectured nationally for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Academy of Family Practice, the American College of Rheumatology, the American Urologic Association, the Medical Group Management Association and numerous other national, state and local medical associations.

Mike has written numerous articles for, and is frequently quoted in health care publications on a variety of topics. He participated as contributing editor on the AMA publication Capitation - The Physicians' Guide. He is also principal author of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Privacy Manual- A How To Guide for your Medical Practice and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Security Manual- A How To Guide for your Medical Practice, publications distributed by over fifteen national and state specialty associations. He serves as an Advisory Board Member of Doctor's Digest - Managing Your Practice.

He holds a degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia. He has previously worked as an Educational Specialist and Clinic Director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and served as Project Officer for Primary Care and Certificate of Need programs for the U.S. Public Health Service during which time he received the US Surgeon General’s Special Recognition Award for Meritorious Service.
